Did you know that Wisconsin's forest industry provides more than 64,000 jobs and has an annual output of $24.7 billion? And that Wisconsin is the nationwide leader for paper production and wood furniture manufacturing? Or that an exciting new industry in renewable biofuels is emerging that creates energy and fuel from left-over woody biomass?

As you can see, the forest industry has a tremendous economic impact on the state, and you can be an important part of it! Don't worry if you're not well versed in forestry or natural resources, although that's a plus! We're willing to train the right person on aspects of forestry as long as you possess a strong knowledge of economic principles, theories and practices. We'll be counting on you as the Forest Economist to be the Division's expert on economic analysis and evaluation.

The successful candidate can choose a work station in either Madison or Rhinelander.

Interviews are anticipated to be held during the week of June 17th, so mark your calendars now!
