Type: Full-Time

DUTIES: Working with major electric utility system forestry needs, inspecting utility poles & structures for hazard conditions in ROW. Inspect utility right-of-ways for compliance standards; Identify tree and brush control work and provide info to line-clearance crews; Document work using hand-held computer; Notify property owners of pending work on their property; Discuss and negotiate line-clearance crew access issues; and Special projects as assigned.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Two or Four year degree in Forestry, Urban Forestry, Horticulture or related discipline; Ability to identify local tree species and knowledge of growth rates; ISA Certified Arborist a plus. Excellent communication skills; Ability to work and hike in rugged terrain and inclement weather; Working knowledge of computers; Ability to read and follow maps; Ability to work independently; Ability to drive and operate a 4x4 vehicle. Utility Right-of-Way Vegetation experience preferred. Electric utility experience a major plus. Specific task training provided. Leadership experience and a desire for career growth will be given a priority.
