Horticulturist, arborist and garden columnist, Tony Tomeo has always enjoyed gardening. Even as urban sprawl replaced the last remnants of orchards in the Santa Clara Valley, he spent his childhood growing fruits and vegetables, and propagating perennials.
After attaining his BS in horticulture from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, he grew horticultural crops through the 1990s, from citrus trees to rhododendrons. As consulting for landscape and tree services became more demanding than nursery production, Tony also began writing his weekly gardening column in 1998, and has done various articles for trade magazines and radio, including his own gardening talk show. This site features his work.
