General Manager of company will need to manage forestry operations of sawlogging, thinning, grinding and hauling logs and biomass to sawmill and biomass facility. Plants require over 35 semi loads of material per day. Company owns approximately 15 trucks, 10 skidders, 5 feller bunchers, 5 dozers, 2 graders, 5 loaders, 1000 hp Zehr horizontal wood grinder, 2 sawmills, one Morbark LP50 pole peeler, etc. and has 65 employees.



GM will need to have current business skills including computer (email, excel, word and powerpoint), human resources (including ability to hire and fire blue collar forestry and trucker types and confidence working with older experienced mechanics, loggers, etc.), financial (can do business analysis of profitability, costs per ton, budgeting, etc.), communication (written and verbal especially with the owner of the business who is a very detailed CPA).



Would be nice to have some experience in sawmills, forestry, trucking but not required if the above skills are strong enough.



Ability to manage relationships with US Forest Service and Apache Indian Tribe/BIA on new thinning contracts, compliance issues, etc.



It may be possible that good performance in this position leads to corporate executive position.
